Meet Our New York Labs Team: Jordan Niemeyer

Every WeWork Labs location comes equipped with a feature no other space can replicate: the Labs Manager, your onsite super-connector whose job is to help you fulfill your destiny. Our Labs managers are just as diverse as the Labs and members they lead—a global team with various backgrounds, cultures, interests, and more. In this post, we’re learning a bit about Jordan Niemeyer.

Name: Jordan Niemeyer

Title: Senior Labs Manager

Lab: W57th St, New York, United States

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Energetic, friendly, loyal. (Or more succinctly, human golden retriever).

What did you do before you joined WeWork Labs?

I’ve been with WeWork for four years including two years on the Partnerships team and one-and-a-half years on the Community team. Prior to WeWork, I cofounded a fintech startup and before that I worked as an Analyst at a hedge fund (all in NYC).

What do you like best about working with early-stage startups?

Watching a product/service progress from idea to reality is incredibly satisfying. Knowing the hard work it takes to build a product from the ground up, it’s a reward for me to see early wins and success from early-stage startups.

What do you do when you’re not helping startups succeed?

I enjoy spending time going out with my friends to restaurants, bars, and music venues. I love traveling and experiencing new cultures (although I don’t travel nearly as much as I’d like to). I’m passionate about hockey (being from Minnesota, I was born that way) as well as football.

What’s your superpower?

I believe my superpower is my ability to relate to and connect with people.

Share a fun fact about yourself:

I’ve spent time in 46 out of the 50 U.S. states (Hawaii, you’re next up!).

What are some good places to grab a bite to eat near your Lab?

Burger Joint, La Esquina, The Plaza Food Hall, Turnstyle Underground Market.

What are your favorite things to do near your Lab?

We’re located two blocks from Central Park, which is absolutely incredible.

What's your most important piece of advice for startups?

No one is going to do it for you, but never hesitate to ask for help from your friends, colleagues, and associates. Especially for a first-time entrepreneur, you won’t know the answer to many, many problems. Hard work and determination are required but no one is capable of doing everything themselves.
